ABSTRACT
Se analizó el plan de estudio de la especialidad de Estomatología General Integral con el objetivo de realizar su perfeccionamiento. Métodos: análisis y síntesis, sistémico estructural, revisión documental, criterio de expertos. El perfeccionamiento constó de varias etapas desde la convocatoria del comité académico hasta el rediseño de los diferentes módulos. Resultados: se destacó la redefinición de los problemas profesionales, la actualización y reordenamiento de contenidos, el módulo de atención primaria en ortodoncia sustituyó al de atención al menor de 19 años II. Se diseñó el módulo de atención integral al paciente geriátrico, se incluyó, la presentación, en formato de artículo de revisión, alguna de las revisiones bibliográficas que se les orientan al residente. Conclusiones: el nuevo plan de estudio mantiene la estructura didáctica modular y la formación en los propios servicios, se actualizaron y reordenaron los contenidos. To analyze the curriculum of the integral general dentistry specialty to encourage its improvement. Methods: systemic and structural analysis and synthesis, documentary review, expert criteria. The upgrading consisted of several phases from the summons of the academic committee to the re-design of the different modules. Results: the re-definition of professional problems, the updating and reorganization of contents were underlined; the primary care module in orthodontics replaced the care for under 19 years-old patient II module. The integral care to the older patient module was designed, and there was included the presentation of some literature reviews made by residents in the review article format. Conclusions: the new curriculum keeps the modular didactic structure and the formation at work; the contents were similarly updated and reorganized.
